new name

long story short, I was given this nickname for no other reason than someone came up with it and it stuck.  Sounded better than switch

Songs

I listen to music in order to feel feelings. The songs generally fall into 2 categories:
  • Songs that were part of my past events in and life and of the feelings I had at the time of those events. I'll call them "Time Capsules."
  • Songs that elicit feelings, are not associated with any time or event in my life but are pitch perfect in conveying a message or a feeling., I'll call them "Glitches." It is usually a feeling I have felt before, the song reminds me of times and events
I cherish glitches. they help remind me that I can still feel things. I seek glitches out for that reason.

Tattoos...

...are gay. especially, mostly on girls. A tattoo on a girl screams insecurity. It says "I must permanently disfigure my body to show my dedication to 'expressing' myself and my individuality because everyone else is doing it and think it's cool and I think unicorns and stars are pretty..."

The female form is the most beautiful thing on the planet earth. Why do women want to fuck up and distract from that natural beauty? The reason's they give are stupid... they want to commemorate an event or time in their life when things are tough, hard, good, great, bad, etc. What better way to remember things than by ruining your skin with a giant ink blot. In 20 years that shit is going to look like someone puked battery acid on your arm, small of the back, ankle, etc.

No Quarter

What I hoped would happen was my Dad would settle the hens (aunts and grandma) down about my being single while my youngest brother is getting married. What ended up happening was a joke BY my Dad questioning my sexual orientation. The hens were not amused. I played along. My Dad should have known better. The hens will share the joke with the family, invariably it will get mangled in the rumor mill and I'll magically become a friend of Dorothy. I guess I'm going to have to deal with this for the rest of my life or until I get married.

Speaking of hens, one of my aunts called me chicken for not having met someone and gotten married. I guess it's better than being called gay by your Dad.

Apparently there is some sort of record at play. Currently, one of my cousin's holds the record for being the oldest to marry (first marriage) at age 34. So I only have 4 years to find the woman I'll spend the rest of my life with and who will be the mother of my children, lest I bring shame on my family for getting married AFTER I turn 35... can we say Russian mail order bride?

If at first you don't succeed...

Started the diet thing again. Modified from previous versions. Hardcore first month (shakes mostly), then a transition to healthy food. You know, whole grain this, fat free that. I'll also be waking up at 5am to go to the gym. So far so good with the 5am thing. I am NOT a morning person. I need sleep. So looks like my bedtime will be 9-10pm each night. Which is not a big deal, seeing as how I'm not dating or anything.

A Blessing and a Curse

The Blessing
Firstly, and most importantly, I wish to congratulate my youngest brother for finally proposing to his girlfriend. I couldn't imagine a more perfect couple getting hitched. His fiance' will be a wonderful addition to the family. I'm especially looking forward to the wedding in August.

The Curse
I'm almost 5 years my brother's senior. The onslaught of questions and comments regarding my own marital status (specifically my lack thereof) will be formidable. It will certainly be a test of my intestinal fortitude, my ability to bite my tongue, to grin and bear it. I have all sorts of smart assery I could unleash, but I don't want to alienate my family and friends. They certainly mean well, but honestly, do they really think I'm not aware of the fact my youngest brother is getting married before me? The best tact for me to employ is to return the focus on my brother and his fiance'. After all the last thing I want is draw attention away from them.

I may get married, I probably won't.
